Christmas Treats/Fun Presents

Posted by mo, 8th December 2009

IN wonder of what to give your many friends, Aunt Daisy or even what to add to the xmas table on this festive day? ...well I have found a wonderful recipe that can be created into fantastic gifts. It's a spin on a classic Sienna cake (also known as Panforte).

Sienna Cake

1 c chopped macadamias

1 c chopped walnuts

1 c chopped almonds

150g chopped dates

1 c sultanas

1/4 c coconut

1/2 c plain flour

1/2 c cocoa

1/2 c icing sugar

250g milk chocolate

60g butter

1/2 c apricot

icing sugar sifted

Melt chocolate, butter and jam together over a medium heat. Once melted add all dry ingredients. Divide mixture into muffin tins (should fill at least 12) and cook for 25 mins at 180 degrees. Remove from dish - let cool and dust with icing sugar. To make this a little bit extra spesh wrap each cake up in clear cellophane and tie with a pretty xmas coloured ribbon. These little treasures will be a wonderful present for any friend!
