I have been looking forward to Craft 2.0 at the New Dowse for AGES! The have had the posters up for a while, and they are conveniently located on my walk home from work so I was teased by it everyday, you little minx, Craft 2.0. Tease over! I went today and it was fricken awesome. What is Craft 2.0, you ask?? Well, glad you did. It is the ultimate craft show. Lots of stands (just like at a real fair) of handmade crafty creations. The organisers sift through 100's of applications from crafty people and they pick the best ones and put them up on these fair stands with their creations, and then........ we get to go down and be jealous of all the crafty people and how talented they are, and then......... buy their creations, and then.......... if you are me you take photos of the creations that you bought from the talented, crafty people from the Craft Fair 2.0, and then..........you write about it on your blog, in the Crafty Creations page.
This is the work of 'Honeythorpe'. The little buttony-looking things are actually drawing pins. Then we have some cute little clothing pegs and string. Then we have this super sweet card! It is soooo sweet! I don't even know who it is for! I just had to buy it because it was that sweet. I'm sure I won't have any difficulty finding a prettysweet friend to give it to.
Next on my craft purchasing list was this cute red-check team made by 'Corntree'. Purse, earrings and hairclip. I really want to wear them at the same time! But not with a red-check shirt because that would just be a bit O.T.T, 'yeah you know me!' Or is that O.P.P?? hmmm pondering (I don't like acronyms, this acronym means 'Over the top', in future I will just write 'Over the top').
I didn't get the name of the place that do these gift tags, that I am going to use as a bookmark (seems appropriate seens they are prints of childrens stories, and are a great size for a bookmark), but she also does printed journals in a similar design. There were soooo many other things! but unfortunetly I don't have a money tree, damn it. But other favourites that really stood out were - Chromatophobic - They do necklaces, brooches, buttons all made from scrap metal in the form of 'Grimlys', different emo-ish characters with their own stories. You can see some of their stuff at www.ponoko.com/showroom/Chromatophobic Minu - She had some really cute felt toys, but I loved her 'Lilu' prints the most. Cute, but sort of strange and sad. I am ordering some off her website. I have reached Craft Overload. But may I say, before I go, handmade stuff is the cats pjs! Made with love, and usually pretty individual, and far more personality-full.
