Hitchcocks Ladies

I heart Hitchcock films.

It all started one day when I came home from the video store and for the 10th time in a row I managed to get yet another average movie. I decided I was cursed. Someone had put a 'always pick a dumb movie' curse on me. I would spend aaaggges in that video store searching for something great but the more I searched the worse the movie got. I actually got banned from picking movies, thats how bad it was.

Then one day, someone gave me one last chance, one last chance to break the curse and be accepted again. Hitchcock saved me. Once I got one, I was hooked and people wanted to come around and watch movies with me again.

So, thats all I get now when I go to the video store. One day soon his movies will run out and the ban will be reinstated but until then I will scare my self witless watching Birds when the masses of scary Kakas are lining up to attack me outside, or watching Psycho and not being able to close the shower curtain for a week.

One thing that amazes me and makes me slightly envious are the actresses. It is like he scoured the world for the most beautiful people.

Ingrid Bergman stared in Spellbound, Notorious and Under Capricorn.

Isabel Jeans, was in two of Hitchcoks silent films in the 1920's. Downhill and Easy Virtue.

Grace Kelly. Definite fave! Everything I have seen her wear I want. She stared in some of Hitchcocks movies in the 50's. Rear Window, Dial M for Murder and To Catch a Thief. She also ended up becoming a princess...settle down Grace.

Tippi Hedren. Another fave. Beautiful, stylish and she had some serious attitude. She was in Birds and Marnie. She is also Melanie Griffiths mum! AND she founded a wildlife habitat in California which cares for endangered cats - pretty funny really considering cats eat birds. I can imagine that if someone was throwing herds of birds in my face (rumour has it Alfred Hitchcock was pretty cruel to her in the scene where she goes to the attic and gets attacked by birds. The angry birds were actually being thrown in her face, poor woman) I would want to look after cats too.

Janet Leigh. Jaime Leigh Curtis' mum and our Marion Crane from behind the shower curtain in Psycho.

Does anyone else have the sudden urge to put their hair in rollers?

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."
