Sew while you Sip on a Cafe Latte

Oh la la.

Well this is a great idea.

Thanks partly to the 'global recession' (I am so sick of hearing those two words), craftiness has come back with avengence. There is no complaining here, I think handmade things are wonderful, not only can you have the pride of creating something beautiful all by yourself, you can also personalise your handmade goodie for yourself or for the special person you are creating it for AND it doesn't end up costing you as much. Basically there is more love involved, and everyone loves love.

So, back to my story..... Some smart young ladies by the names of Sissi and Martena noticed this trend, specifically when it came to fashion, in that people were buying second-hand clothing that needed a little bit of work to make it fit well, or even designing your own TShirt or putting embroidery on you favourite jumper.

Sissi and Martena thought it would be great to have a cafe where not only could you get a delicous slice of Victorian Sandwich a coffee, you could also hire a sewing machine to hem your awesome opshop dress find, or learn how to make some killer cushions for your new retro couch that you picked up down the road.

Sissi and Martena went to Singer, the sewing machine people and told them of their idea and they too thought it was fantastique (that is french for fantastic). They gave them 10 sewing machines and an embroidery machine and set them on there merry way to help people be proud and put some personalised love into all that they create whilst also feasting on some super treats. That was a long sentence.

They named this masterpiece Sweat Shop.

Bravo Sissi and Martena, Bravo.

Don't be afraid to try something new. Remember, amatuers built the Ark. Professionals built the Titanic.
