Birthday Cake fit for a King

It was the Kings birthday today, what do you do for the King for his birthday? Well, you let him sleep in and you bake him a chocolate cake. Depending on the king, you could also buy him a new pair of shoes, and if he wants a ham and cheese croissant for second breakfast then you should get it for him.

I'm obsessed with Ginger Cake...

Now that I have started, I can't get enough of ginger love.

This recipe is more like a loaf, like gingerbread. It is yummy with a few lashings of butter for breakfast (naughty), or a wee afternoon snack. Upside down Pear and Ginger Cake

I think I have finally nailed the upside down cake.

Now, I know there a lot of people out there who are a little pessimistic about ginger related things, but Pears and Ginger should get married. They are perfect together.
